Oil Filtration
In my earlier post, I had explained the parameters and specifications of clean oil. Clean oil & Lubricants are of utmost importance to any industry.
It keeps hydraulic systems particulate free, increases efficiency of the equipment and reduces downtime of production, increases lubricant’s life, the life of gears, bearings etc.
I had explained the parameters required to measure cleanliness of oil- NAS/ ISO so I shall not go into the details.
Case Study:
Our sales engineer received an enquiry where hydraulic oil was very dirty with lot of impurities. Normally unfiltered oil has a NAS value between 10-11. We gave a 4 stage filtration unit as follows-
- Prefiltration with bag filters- 5 micron nominal
- Prefiltration with cartridge filters- 5 micron absolute rated
- Fine filtration with cartridge filters- 4 micron absolute rated
- Final filtration with cartridge filters- 2 micron absolute rated
The main feature of our NAS oil filtration systems is that in a single pass we get the required NAS value. Also, we can custom design as per viscosity, flow rate, temperature etc. We have inline NAS checking facility. It’s a small compact system.
This filtration system gave absolute clarity with a NAS value of 5-7 and 2-3 to Gandhar Oil refinery and ONGC respectively. Please find their testimonials below. (Lower the NAS value, less number of particles in oil.)
